Additional Details

On the second and third pages are a report on the arrival of silver in Arequipa, destined for Lima: 'un fardo grande cosido' covered with leather 'con marco' of 'dozientos y seis marcos de plata.' An example of the marks used on the silver bars is given in the margin. The quantity is given as 206 marks, at 5 pesos to the mark. The route taken to Arequipa is described, as well as the danger presented by Indians en route. On the fourth through sixth pages is another report of the same date on 41 silver bars, individually weighed and recorded for shipment to Lima, and touching on the route to be taken. On the first page is an unrelated notarial document from 1575.
