In the earliest document, "Juana," eighteen years "give or take 6 months," a recent arrival on the ship "Our Lady of Mercy" in Valparaiso is sold for 500 pesos. In another, a slave named Francisco, aged 12, a recent arrival on the ship "Avila" is sold for 400 pesos.
