The extremely rare first state, with 24 lettered and 27 numbered references along the left side. Although Wheat & Brun attribute an earlier date (arguing that the city is depicted prior to Hill's view of 1796), Snyder located an advertisement in the 3 August 1796 Pennsylvania Gazette describing the map as "shortly to be published" and offering it to subscribers at up to $2.
