The notes on the backs of these cartes-de-visite state that "Old Fanny (mother of Fannie Drew) was a slave of Elsie (Ray) Lott. Her husband was Abraham, a slave of [?] Lott," "Aunt Lizzie (Mrs. Nichols). Colored servant Aunt Fannie," and "Uncle Abraham, Colored servant in Lott family."
