Two albumen photographs, 2½ x 2 inches oval to sight, mounted on verso of an engraved certificate, 18½ x 14¼ inches, completed in manuscript; moderate foxing and dampstaining, full horizontal folds not affecting photographs, several closed tears repaired on verso, photographs backed on verso with clipping from circa 1918 Michigan newspaper. The groom was Green Allen, and the bride was Mary E. Foster. Their marriage was also recorded in the marriage register for Van Buren County, MI. The engraved certificate was designed by W.P. Cooper of Kingsville, Ontario for B.F. Kennedy of Conneaut, OH, and printed by Gies & Co. of Buffalo, NY. It reads "Marriage, We Are One Forever" as part of an elaborate lithographic design.
