(PIPE DREAM MONTAGES--HUMOR) Album with 58 American and European humorous real photo postcard montages of women depicted in bubbles (blown from a pipe) and men and/or women shown in smoke (drawn from a cigarette). The surrealist-like bubble images represent a range of well-known women of show business, many of whom are identified in the lower portion of the cards. The smoking images, almost spirit-like in photographic sensibility, depict both men and women "dreaming" of a paramour. Silver prints on carte-postale paper (47) and photomechanical (11) prints, 40 of which are hand-tinted, the images measuring 5 1/4x3 1/4 inches (13.3x8.3 cm.), and the reverse; the printed images with captions on recto. 1910s
