A group portrait at a dinner celebrating the appointment of Robert C. Weaver (1907-1997) as head of the Housing and Home Finance Agency. Weaver later went on to become the first African-American cabinet member in 1965. The men in this portrait were a "Who's Who" of African-American leaders, including Roy Wilkins and Ralph Bunche, with Weaver seated at center.
