Additional Details

Couturier Paul Poiret spearheaded the production of this album, designed to showcase luxurious French products from a wide variety of companies, such as the fashion house of the Callot Soeurs, to the cosmetics company Elizabeth Arden, to the Moulin Rouge cabaret and the import/export specialists Mitsubishi. He commissioned young Parisian artists such as Cocteau, Dufy, Dyl, Foujita, Gesmar, Martin and Sem to design modern, bold advertisements for the participating businesses. Advertisements are divided into the following chapters: fashion and accessories, home furnishings, food and wine, gifts, sports and travel. This was the first of what was conceived to be an annual series, although a second album was never assembled.
