Additional Details

Co-published by the National Council for the Prevention of War, this charming collection of verse was intended for the children of the world to learn about each other. As the rhyme begins on the front cover of the portfolio, "In hearts to young for enmity / There lies the way to make men free / When children's friendships/ are world-wide/ New ages will be glorified / Let child love child, and strife/ will cease / Disarm the hearts, for that is peace." Each illustration represents a different nation with a child pictured in pastel hues accompanied by a short verse on manners or social customs in his or her homeland.
