Jacksonian newspaper editor and Kitchen Cabinet member Francis Preston Blair of the Washington Globe is shown being reanimated from the dead through the use of a primitive electrical battery. Two demons discuss the risen corpse: "Where have we his equal on earth? . . . Show me another man who can lie like him." Reilly 1836-25. With--two other lithographs by Robinson from this period: "Presentation," a caricature of an envoy from Haiti, 1839 and "Democratic Whig, or Calm as a Summer's Morning / Morning after Election / Federal Loco-Focos, or All in a Fluster," undated.
