"A remarkably good and interesting historical extravaganza, and the only one of the kind from Moore that I have seen"--Peters, America on Stone, page 288. The first 8 presidents through Van Buren are depicted. The caption elaborates: "The View is that of the Battle of Bunker Hill, from Chelsea, with Boston seen in the distance. The main subject being General Washington surrounded by one Representative from each of the thirteen States. The National Flag of 1776 . . . is on the right, while the present one is seen on the left hand." Reilly, 1839-15, no prior auction records found.
