Additional Details

William Seward is depicted as a tired old horse trotting away from Chicago's "Republican Wigwam" after losing the 1860 Republican nomination to Abraham Lincoln. Newspaper editor Horace Greeley thumbs his nose at Seward as a farewell. We can trace no other work by Thomas F.C. (or F.G.) Miller, here credited as the designer. One in OCLC and none traced at auction.
