These young men are uniformed and draped in regalia in the manner of Lincoln's Wide-Awakes from 1860. The campaigner to the left holds a flag bearing the name of Grant's running mate Schuyler Colfax, though Grant's name is out of the frame. It is similar to the design seen in Collins, Threads of History #349.
