Additional Details

A jugate campaign print depicting Samuel J. Tilden for president with his running mate Thomas A. Hendricks, under the header "Ship of State, Reform." Currier and Ives had been issuing these Grand National Banners for each presidential election since 1844, but this (and the preceding lot) were the last of the series. We trace no other examples of this Tilden-Hendricks print at auction. Reilly 1876-3.
