Additional Details

Argues that Garfield is a secret advocate for free trade. The closing paragraphs make an appeal to racial prejudice: "If you want to keep the horde of negroes out of New Hampshire who have been invited into the State to compete with you at your mills and workshops, vote for Hancock. . . . What is before you if Garfield is elected: The tariff reduced, your wages cut down, and on top of all that, the competition of 20,000 negroes set against you." One example traced in OCLC, of a different 2-page printing.
