Additional Details

While any good American would have wanted this elegant memorial in their parlor in the weeks after Grant's untimely death, the intended audience was more likely public spaces such as rail stations or hotel lobbies. The photographs cover Grant's entire family and career, with many of his Manhattan funeral procession. Versions of this album were produced with various numbers of photographs; this is one of the larger ones. It does not often appear on the market with the display stand. This is one of the heaviest lots we've offered, so bidders should consider shipping arrangements beforehand.
