[49] manuscript pages, embellished with 24 albumen portraits of the presidents, and with ink and watercolor borders. 4to, 11 x 9 inches, in original limp calf wrapper reading "The Presidents of the United States," stitched with ribbon, with green silk pastedowns, moderate wear; minor wear to first leaf, otherwise minimal wear internally. An attractive and unique tribute to the nation's first 24 presidents through McKinley. It begins with an introductory poem listing all the presidents in verse, and illustrated with a bald eagle bearing a patriotic ribbon. It is followed by two leaves for each president. The first is illustrated with a portrait surrounded by a frame listing the notable accomplishments of each; the second leaf is a short manuscript biography. No events are listed beyond the January 1899 peace with Spain, although the introductory poem was apparently borrowed from the 15 February 1900 issue of the Christian Advocate.
