Folio, original bevelled cream boards gilt-stamped to design by Goodhue, with brass clasps and catches, darkened, scattered soiling, spine ends worn; inscribed to a Brooklyn, NY Reverend in 1894. Printed statement and signatures on the title verso by J. Pierpont Morgan and other members of the 1892 General Convention, which had approved this revised version of the American prayer book. Laid in is a 4-page leaflet (On the Decorations of the Limited Edition of the Standard Prayer Book of 1893) by D. B. Updike, who oversaw the design of this edition. New York: De Vinne Press, 1893
