Additional Details

"Narragansett" was built in 1867. On 11 June 1880 it collided with the "Stonington" in Long Island Sound. It was a double blow for the Providence & Stonington Steamship firm as both ships were members of its fleet. 30 people died in the ensuing fire on "Narragansett," though neither ship sank.
