Additional Details

An historical map, with the locations of the birthplaces of scores of noted African-Americans. Also shown are numerous historical sites such as the monument to Crispus Attucks at Boston Common, and Howard University. The most inclusive "map" of its sort that we have ever seen, from the earliest arrival of slaves in Jamestown to the accomplishments of colored troops in World War II, which had ended a year before this was published. Friendship Press issued a later version of this in 1965, bringing it up to date with Martin Luther King, Jr., and the Civil Rights Act, and adding a group of "flash cards" for teaching purposes, as we believe the present map was intended as well.
