The second edition, preceded by an earlier 1951 edition. While OCLC shows a number of locations for this, we have never seen another copy in the 20 years that we've been writing this catalogue. Although presented in a more or less juvenile format, this is an excellent historical resource for students of African American history of all ages; with short biographies of all of the obvious names, but many of the lesser known figures as well.
