Additional Details

Dedicated to the officers of the Pennsylvania Central Railroad shortly after it began rail service across the mountains from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh. Leases, connecting lines and expansion extended its service from St. Louis, Chicago, New York, and Washington--all indicated in the color map on the cover. Insets show a train crossing the scenic Susquehanna Viaduct, as well as various distances from Cleveland and Cincinnati. An unusually attractive early railroad piece. Dichter & Shapiro, Early American Sheet Music page 70.
