The twin-screw vessel began her life as a cargo ship in the White Star fleet named "Belgic." Her first voyage under the Red Star banner was in 1923 when she was renamed "Belgenland." She was renamed yet again when she transferred to the Panama-Pacific Line as the "Colombia" in 1934. She was scrapped in 1936.
