Additional Details

One of the earliest auction catalogues devoted exclusively to Americana. This copy later belonged to George Brinley (1817-1875), one of the pioneer collectors of Americana and among the most voracious. The catalogue contains over 2,000 items, and Brinley placed his initials next to a great many of them, presumably indicating that he also owned a copy--unsurprising, given that Brinley's library exceeded 30,000 titles.
