Pages from the original ledger of the Mount Zion A.M.E. Church of Providence, Rhode Island. Incorporated in 1872. These pages appear to have been removed from a larger book. The first 10 pages reproduce the original charter as granted by the State Assembly of Rhode Island, copied no doubt by the church''s secretary. Of particular local interest because of the names of all the officers involved in the church. The second group of pages comprise the by-laws of the church.
