A fine representative group of informal photographs of members of Father Divine's Church. Father Divine (1876-1965) was an African American spiritual leader from about 1907 until his death. His church grew from a small and predominantly black membership to a totally mixed international congregation. Mayor Fiorello Laguardia was a sometime member of his church and was said to have sought Divine's advice.
