Additional Details

A scarce poster, something for the homes of those who had given generously to Daddy Grace and his church. Marcelino Manuel da Graca (1881-1960) or 'Sweet Daddy Grace' as he was more popularly known was the founder and first bishop of the predominantly African-American denomination the United House of Prayer For All People. He was a contemporary of Father Divine, Noble Drew Ali and Ernest Holmes, but had a distinctly more flamboyant style. Like most of his peers, Grace claimed he could heal by faith, and he was known for his mass outdoor Baptisms held at the banks of lakes and rivers.
