Additional Details

The United Methodist Church founded its Commission on Religion and Race in 1968. These three essays were penned by the commission's Executive Secretary and Associate Secretary, both of them prominent African-Americans in the church. Included are: Woodie W. White, "Anatomy of White Racism" Woodie W. White, "Sex and White Racism" and Clayton E. Hammond, "A Theological Perspective on Racism." None of these essays have been traced in OCLC or at auction, though two of them are found in the William H. Maness Collection at Elon University.
