Additional Details

A short biography of the Rev. Andrew Jones (1854-1934), who was born into slavery in Virginia. As an itinerant minister in the late 1880s, it is said he accurately predicted the Johnstown flood and an earthquake in Charlestown, SC; he later settled in Philadelphia. The author of this sketch was a protégé, Jacob Benjamin Boddie (1872-1936), a Baptist pastor in New Rochelle, NY. No other examples traced in OCLC or elsewhere.
