Additional Details

Scarce reprinting (second edition overall?) of the original Declaration of William Bradford regarding their settlement of New England, as well as 9 "General Fundamentals" written by the colonists in 1636 concerning the rights of the colonists. This pamphlet, published by Revolutionary publisher Joseph Greenleaf, was no doubt printed in reaction to the British proposal to alter the charter of Massachusett's Bay so that colonial governors would be paid directly by the Crown, as well as the reaction to the news that the Gaspee patriots would be tried in England. The terminal leaf includes an advertisement for Greenleaf's reprinting by subscription of the General Laws of New-Plymouth (apparently never published). Sabin 53386; Evans 12885.
