Additional Details

"If the line of Boats, could be so Contracted, as to admit the Doubling of the Troops, on the same Principle as laid down, it would be best, for if we were attackted in front, our Wings would be so Extended, we would have it in our Power, to surround the Enemy, as the Right hand Columns may Advance quick . . . and the Indians Conoe, to be Painted in such a manner, that our advance Guards may know them, might be of much Service, in making Discoveries, & they would be partly opposite our advance Guard. I would recommend the Remainder of the Indians to be on the East shore, if the General thought proper, I should think it highly necessary that a Regt. of Light Infantry should be formed, including the Rifle men till we meet General Sullivan . . ."
Although Joseph Sabin published Bleeker's order book in 1865, these two documents are not included. They were, however, published in the October 1932 issue of New York History.<
