Commissioned in July 1775, Lamb's Artillery fought at the Battle of Quebec at the outset of the war, in which many of its members were captured or killed. Lamb was taken prisoner, but exchanged two years later and promoted to Colonel of the 2nd Continental Artillery, serving at Yorktown.<
