Additional Details

A scarce American edition of an important tract by the ardent American supporter. In this work, Price congratulates the victorious former colonists, stating that the Revolution "opens a new prospect in human affairs, and begins a new era in the history of mankind." Price's thoughts were originally intended only to be published in America, but the threat of a pirated British edition prompted a London 1784 edition which preceded the first American edition published in Boston the same year. This edition said to be one of the earliest books printed on New Jersey-made paper. Evans 19203; Felcone 221.
