(ROGERS GROUP.) ROGERS John (1829-1904). The Traveling Magician. Fine plaster Rogers Group painted brown. 28 3/4 inches tall and a 15x15 3/4 inch base (58x38x40 cm). In extremely fine condition, with no evidence of repairs; color probably recent. New York, late 1870s.

One of the most popular of the Rogers groups. The production date variously attributed to 1877, 1878, or 1879. About 50 copies of the group are known to exist and this is certainly one of the best examples.
