Each subject is carefully situated in its garden and architectural surroundings, while the addition of playful figures and pets add to the fine composition of each individual fountain. "This collection of plates is the most charming that has ever appeared on the fountains of Rome and its environs" (Fowler). British Arch. Libr. 1014; Millard 36; Fowler 117; Cicognara 3863.
