Additional Details

George Kruck Cherrie (1865-1946) was an American naturalist who participated in Theodore Roosevelt's arduous South American Expedition in 1913. This manuscript was revised and published in 1930 as "Dark Trails: Adventures of a Naturalist." This draft begins with a typescript foreword by Kermit Roosevelt and contains numerous notes and corrections. It ends on what would be page 222 of a 322-page book, so we can guess one volume is missing.
Included with the manuscript are 3 photograph portraits of Cherrie, a smaller snapshot of a river scene, 16 pages of related typescripts, a 1928 letter to Cherrie enclosing small snapshot of Roosevelt campaigning in Newton, KS, and a 1930 Letter Signed from Theodore Roosevelt Jr. expressing his enthusiasm for Dark Trails.
