Additional Details

These photographs were all apparently taken at the same event, where Roosevelt arrived by train, was greeted by a military escort, and traveled to a banquet in a horse-drawn carriage. Pretty much a regular day in the life of the president. The only signs are a "Welcome" banner and two Western Union signs mounted on a pole. Roosevelt appears in all but two of these images. with--a similar photograph from a different event, 7 1/2 x 9 3/4 inches on original plain mount, captioned in manuscript "The President leaving Oyster Bay L.I. Sept. 25th 1907," with inked stamp of "The Press Photo Co." of New York on verso; mount chipped in one corner, light abrasion in image. Roosevelt holds onto his hat in the back seat of an automobile, surrounded by several well-wishers.
