(SAN FRANCSICO--CHINATOWN) Small suite of 5 boudoir cards by the Schoene studio depicting San Francisco Chinatown and its environs. With street scenes including signage; an image of a Chinese woman peering out of a small "crib" or room; and a group photograph of Lepers, taken at the "pest house." Albumen prints, the images measuring 4 3/4x8 inches (12x20.4 cm.), the mounts slightly larger, with Schoene's imprint on mount recto, and all but one with period German notations, in ink, on verso. 1880s
