An original print of a photograph which was also published in The Crisis, June 1922, page 76. The Crisis caption explained that "The Pioneer Radio Society was organized in New York City last December for furthering the interest of colored electrical and radio amateurs. At present there are 15 members and the enrollment is growing. They have meeting and laboratory rooms on 138th Street. Miles Hardy is President." They are thought to be the first Black radio society in the nation (Encyclopedia of Radio, page 25).
