Davy," to the Reverend Edward Forster, explaining that he does not collect manuscripts and has little interest in those by great chemists, adding that the library of the Royal Society might benefit from them and, in a postscript, requesting that he forward the enclosed note [not present] to Sir [Sidney?] Smith. 1 1/2 pages, small 4to, written on the recto and verso of a single sheet; short closed tear with minor loss to text at right edge repaired with paper recto and verso, minor scattered staining, folds.
