Additional Details

"It is kind of you to have personally informed me of your great loss. The pain of parting will however be softened in the knowledge that here has ended a harmonious life, full of fruitful work without any pause: Nature reserves this to but a few. I have known few people in whom the knowledge of human nature and human friendship have gotten along so well together as they did in him. His indestructible humor helped him in this and I can readily understand why he was so constantly attracted to Vienna, that city which was so full of the joy of living even though this has faded somewhat lately. . . ."
