first antarctic newspaper. Upon the return of the 1901-04 Discovery (volume 1-2) and the 1910-13 Terra Nova (volume 3) expeditions, these lithographed facsimiles of the original typescripts produced in a single copy during the winters spent on Antarctic were published. Volumes 1 and 2 are from the limited edition of 250 copies, this set being copy number 111; volume 3 is from a limited edition of 350 copies, this copy being an unnumbered "Presentation Copy." As with this set, many of the publisher's bindings have needed to be recased due to the poor adhesive that was originally used. Sets with the plain dust jackets are very much the exception. Rosove 287.A1 and 291.A2; Spence 1094; Taurus 42 and 79; Books on Ice 7.7.

From the library of Dr. John M. Levinson, with his bookplate.
