Additional Details

A collection relating to Lincoln's Secretary of State, who had previously served as a United States Senator for New York. Highlights include a partly-printed circular letter signed by Seward, forwarding the 14th Amendment to the Governor of Nevada for consideration, 16 June 1866. The only signed war-dated item is a certification of a consul to Puerto Rico dated 6 December 1862.
