News accounts show that participants in the ceremony included suffragist Susan B. Anthony, who read a eulogy; a requiem sung by the last surviving member of the abolitionist Hutchinson Singers who had accompanied Douglass to England; and even a tribute from B.F. Auld, son of the master from whom Douglass had escaped in 1838. No other examples traced at auction or in OCLC.
