Taber, photographer. Albumen photograph, 14¼ x 13¼ inches, on original photographer's mount; minor wear including chipping and small repair to lower mount corner, modern pencil inscription in lower mount, blank on verso. A seated portrait of the nationally renowned minister, brother of Harriet Beecher Stowe, who had been a leading abolitionist before and during the Civil War. Beecher wore the same jacket in other photographs, perhaps from this same sitting, but we have traced no other examples of this pose. [San Francisco, CA]: Taber, circa 1880.

Albumen photograph, 11¾ x 7 inches, on original plain heavy mount; moderate wear including an inch of loss to the upper right corner. No place, circa 1875?
