Additional Details

Two unusual arrest warrants, coming right after the end of the civil war. In the first warrant Sallie Milam, is wanted for the crime of arson, a relatively common occurrence during slavery, and punishable by death in many states. The other, a warrant for Monroe Owen for stealing a hog was a crime probably born of hunger. Both of these warrants were issued in the September Term of 1865. Both Sallie and Monroe had more than likely had fled far away. Both warrants are docketed and bear the following note: "Not Found August of 1865."
