This account details the money due between Boston merchant Fortesque Vernon (1715-1778) and John Manley, captain of his ship Little Fortesque which traded in the Dutch Caribbean. Regarding a September 1769 voyage between the Dutch colonies of Essequebo (Dutch Guiana) and Saint Eustatius, Captain Manley was charged for "3 Negroes my property sold there out of my schooner Little Fortescue, never accounted with me for value £40 each."
