Additional Details

A Note on the reverse states: "This paper, in the handwriting of grandfather Howard, the father of my mother, 1819, Charles Hayden." Josiah Hayden, the purchaser of the slave Anais, was in Captain Bailey's company of Minute Men which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775. A very interesting association.
