Additional Details

a rare and exceptional grouping of elaborate testimonials to abraham lincoln, possibly unique. Provenance: Gordon Bleuler collection to the present owner. It is unusual to see more than a handful of these beautiful postcards at any one time, and given the nature of their printing they are often in less than "collectible" condition. A great many of these were custom-made in Germany for companies like Raphael Tuck London; or the Washington News Company that had theirs made in Dresden. The Germans were the leading houses for greeting cards and other paper novelties.
