These manumissions are both signed by owner Abijah North. The first is for "my said negro boy Lewis about thirty one years of age, of a dark complexion and about five feet 9& 1/2 inches high having a slight scar under his mouth," 6 January 1838. The other declares "forever set free from slavery my negro boy William aged about seventeen years and of dark complexion," 8 August 1842.
